What if we ventured beyond our books and classrooms – what might learning look like? What if we could transcend and connect across disciplines, subjects, cultures or even places? What if we could inspire deepening of knowledge and skills through social, practical, intentional, cognitive and emotional engagement?

Welcome to NEXUS@BTY, where these ‘what ifs’ become reality.

NEXUS@BTY is more than just a cornerstone programme. It is a journey that sparks discovery, one that is carefully curated and diligently designed to equip Beattyians with requisite emerging 21st century competencies, and to ultimately nurture them as Adaptive Thinkers, Agile Learners and Active Contributors.

At its core, NEXUS enables students to

  1. be critical, creative and user-centric, and become discerning decision-makers, inventive problem-solvers and empathetic communicators;

  2. learn how to learn and become joyful explorers, purposeful navigators and reflective knowledge-builders;

  3. be driven to serve and add value, and become impactful changemakers, compassionate connectors and community builders.

Programme Structure

NEXUS@BTY follows a spiralling and staged learning progression.

[For all students] NX101: Critical Cornerstones – The Critical Inquiry Project

  • Students build foundational thinking skills by engaging in an interdisciplinary learning adventure that enables them to connect knowledge, skills, values and dispositions across Geography, Mathematics and Applied Learning.

[For all students] NX201: Constructive Curiosities – STEM Playgrounds

  • Students develop intermediate skills, particularly in design and computational thinking as they explore the connections between Mathematics, the Sciences and Artificial Intelligence with specific focus on generative A.I.

[For selected students] NX301/302*: Creative Connections

  • Students experience advanced transfer of their learning through industrial or international exchanges.

*All students would be certified as participating in the NEXUS@BTY programme. Students who advance to NX301/302 would be accorded with certificates of Merit or Distinction.
