LOW CHENG LUM CIVIC, GLOBAL & CROSS-CULTURAL LITERACY AWARD
This award is presented to students who have actively participated in international exchanges or cross-cultural projects through programmes such as NEXUS. The recipient demonstrates global awareness, leadership, and the ability to connect and contribute meaningfully across cultures. This award highlights the importance of global citizenship, reflecting the school's emphasis on active contributors who think and act beyond their local context.
HEE SWEE KHEE STEM EXCELLENCE AWARD
The STEM Excellence Award is established in memory of Mr Hee Swee Khee, a pioneering educator who served at Beatty Secondary School from 1953 to 1969. As a Mathematics teacher, Mr Hee was known for his unwavering dedication, often staying after school hours to tutor students, and his deep compassion for promising learners. This award, sponsored by his children in loving memory of both Mr Hee and his wife Tan Molly, honours his 35-year legacy of educational excellence and embodies his belief in nurturing young minds in STEM education.
This award recognises students who excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, with additional consideration given to their performance in interdisciplinary STEM projects. It acknowledges both subject mastery and the creative application of STEM knowledge. This award highlights the role of critical, inventive and adaptive thinking in STEM fields.
RENUKA D/O SATIANATHAN HUMANITIES VOYAGER AWARD
The Renuka d/o Satianathan Humanities Voyager Award honours the memory of an extraordinary educator (1987-2025) whose vibrant spirit and passion for learning touched all who knew her. This award celebrates students who demonstrate a deep understanding and passion for the Humanities. The recipient excels in subjects such as Literature, History, Geography, and Social Studies, and has shown the ability to critically analyse and engage with complex social, cultural, and historical issues. This student exemplifies empathy, adaptability, and critical thinking, using their insights to foster connections within the school community and beyond. This award underscores the importance of the humanities in nurturing adaptive thinkers and active contributors, and celebrates students who exemplify global and cross-cultural literacy through their understanding of the world. They embody her philosophy of "serving more than achieving" and her commitment to fostering meaningful connections through joyful learning and selfless service.
BEATTY ALUMNI BILINGUAL BRIDGE AWARD
The Bilingual Bridge Award recognises students who demonstrate outstanding proficiency and appreciation in both English Language, and their respective Mother Tongue Languages and/or Singapore Sign Language. These students demonstrate the ability to connect linguistically and culturally in the community. Their proficiency in both languages to communicate effectively engender understanding and inclusion, making them role models for bilingual excellence. This award celebrates the place of bilingualism in cross-cultural understanding, reflecting our school’s values.
