Direct School Admission – Sec (DSA-Sec) for 2024
We invite all interested 2023 Primary 6 students to apply for Beatty Secondary School via the DSA-Sec Exercise.
Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, while keeping in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes that are available to develop their potential and talents.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent area they are selected for from Year 1 – 4.

Choir | 1. Solo Performance Assessment Applicants will be assessed on the following aspects: - To prepare and sing one song of your choice (at least 2 minutes). Applicants are required to prepare their own audio music, music scores and any other equipment that might be required to demonstrate their skills. |
English Drama | 1. Solo Performance Assessment Applicants will be assessed on the following aspects: - To prepare and enact 1-minute monologue performance based on a script of your choice. 2. Drama Skills Assessment Applicants will be assessed on the following aspects: - Improvisation skills - Vocal projection - Spatial awareness. |
Chinese Orchestra | 1. Solo Performance Assessment Applicants are to prepare and perform one song of your choice (2 to 4 minutes long). Applicants are required to use their own musical instruments, music scores and any other equipment that might be required to demonstrate their skills. |
Concert Band | 1. Music Scales Test Applicants are required to play Concert Bb, Eb and/or F scale by memory. 2. Solo Performance Assessment Applicants are to perform two contrasting pieces of your choice (minimally 24 bars) Applicants are required to find their own musical instruments, music scores and any other equipment needed to demonstrate their skills. |
Malay Dance | Applicants will be assessed based on: 1. 1-minute individual Malay dance performance of your choice. Please ensure that you have the music accompaniment for your dance performance 2. Applied Learning Programme | |

Student Leadership | Applicants will be considered based on the following qualities: - confidence and maturity of thought - clarity of expression - willingness to show initiative - interest in community service - passion to lead and inspire others Prior experience as a student leader (e.g., school prefect, CCA leader, peer support leader, class monitor, etc.) would be an advantage. |
Low Cheng Lum Scholarship
Students with Achievement Level (AL) 13 or better will be awarded the Low Cheng Lum Scholarship, worth a total value of S$2500, based on the following terms and conditions:
- Cash Award of $1000 in Secondary 1, for students with AL 13 or better; and
- Cash Award of $500 in Secondary 2-4, subject to good performance and conduct in the preceding year.

All applicants can apply for DSA-SEC through the centralized DSA-Sec Portal.

For applicants studying in MOE mainstream primary schools: Parent may log in directly to DSA-Sec Portal. Only one parent’s Singpass is required. Parents/guardians who are unable to apply online can approach their child’s primary school for assistance.

For applicants NOT studying in MOE mainstream primary schools: They need to apply for a Registration Number (RGxxxxxxx) to access the DSA-Sec Portal. For more details, please refer to MOE website at: https://go.gov.sg/nmsdsa-sec-application .

Students can indicate up to three choices (maximum of two choices for the same school under two different talent areas).

Applicants studying in mainstream primary schools will have their primary school information shared directly with DSA-Sec schools that they apply to. It is optional to indicate non-school-based activities and achievements.
