National Digital Literacy Programme

The NDLP was launched in March 2020 to help students strengthen their digital literacy and acquire digital skills needed to navigate an increasingly digitalised world.

Under the NDLP, every secondary school student will own a school-prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD). Students may use funds from their Edusave Account to pay for the PLD.

The PLD Initiative

The PLD will be used in tandem with the national e-learning platform – the Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS) – as well as other educational technology to personalise and enhance students’ learning. This will also enable students to acquire digital skills and apply these skills as they navigate an increasingly digitalised world.

4-year Apple Care+

Every iPad comes with one year of hardware repair coverage through its one-year limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary technical support. AppleCare+ extends your iPad, Apple Pencil and Apple-branded iPad keyboard coverage to two years from your AppleCare+ purchase date and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months. Each incident is subject to a service fee of S$68 for iPad and S$42 for Apple Pencil or Apple-branded iPad keyboard.

Intent to Purchase

A Parent Gateway (PG) notification with details on the procurement of the PLD has also been sent to parents/ guardians. Please refer to the notification for more information.

Parents/Guardians without Singpass and Parent Gateway can request for the hardcopy letter via your child’s/ward’s form teacher.

After-school DMA Parent Options

Device Management Application (DMA) software is installed in students’ PLDs to provide a safer digital learning environment, and to prevent misuse of the device. Parents/guardians can choose between these 3 options to suit their preferences for managing the PLDs after school hours:

School will inform parents about how to select their After-School DMA Parent Options.
Parents can request to change their DMA option subsequently via the link https://go.gov.sg/btysschangeofdmaoptions. The request will be processed by the school on a termly basis.

*Applications installed by parents/guardians and/or students after school hours will be disabled during school hours

Technical Issues

Common Issues	Standard Operating Procedure
Device/Hardware Issue	This only applies for Students who procured their Personal Learning Device from the PDLP Device Bulk Tender 1. Contact AsiaPac Helpdesk to log a case 2. Provide Device Brand & Model, Serial Number, Name & Contact Number 3. AsiaPac’s Helpdesk Agent will advise parents/students on any further actions required (e.g. bringing their devices to the service centre for diagnosis or assessment of damage) Alternatively; Use the Fortnightly collection service to send in device for servicing. 1. Hand over device to School Based Helpdesk to log a case 2. The school will liase with AsiaPac for the Collection Date & Time 3. The devices (depending on the parts availability) will be fixed and returned to school the next fortnightly collection service day 4. If your device damage is not covered under Warranty, AsiaPac will follow up with parents/students for consent to claim from your Insurance 5. Once the device has been fixed, the School Based Helpdesk will inform students when to collect their device
Lost of Device	1. Parents to make a police report & inform school regarding the lost device. 2. School’s DMA Administrator will remote lock the device 3. If the lost device is covered under the circumstances listed in the device’s insurance coverage, contact and inform AsiaPac via their Helpdesk or Service centre. The police report is required for the insurance claim 4. AsiaPac's helpdesk/service centre will advise parents on the insurance claim procedure
